Body Brush


Removes dried sweat and dust, especially used on clipped, stable kept horses.

Removes grease and therefore shouldn't be used on un rugged field kept horses.

Dandy Brush


Removes dried sweat and dirt from the filed kept, unclipped horse. 

Corse/ stiffer bristles, shouldn't be used on the face or legs.

Head Collar & Leadrope


Used as a method of restraint. 

Should be put on as you enter the stable.

Hoof Oil & Brush


A light oil used to give shine and condition to hooves.

Shouldn't be applied to frequently as it can affect the natural permeability of the hoof wall.

Hoof Pick


Used to clean out the underside of the horses hooves. Special attention should be paid to avoiding the frog.

Mane Comb


Used to comb out the mane 

Different variants can be used, eg plaiting comb for plaiting, pulling comb for pulling mane, thinning comb for thinning the mane.

Metal Currycomb


Used to clean brushes. 

should NEVER be used directly on a horse.

Plastic Currycomb


Removes dried sweat, and mud from the unclipped usually field kept horse.

Can also be used to clean brushes.

Rubber CurryComb

Used especially during moulting season to remove winter coat during the spring, mud, sweat and scurf. ​

Used in a circular motion. 

Often used during a full groom during the summer months as a massage, and to bring dirt and grease to the surface. 

usually followed by the use of a body bush.

Sweat Scraper


Used to remove excess water from the horses body after washing down or after a bath has been given. 

Should only be used on large muscle areas.

Tail Bandage


Used to set a tail, especially a pulled tail during a full groom. 

Tail is usually dampened first and then tail bandage applied ontop to set/ lay the hairs neatly.

Water Brush

Used to set a tail and remove stable stains. Can be used to wash off excess mud from hooves.

Stable Rubber

Gives a finishing polish and removes and excess dust.
